House Mother

Universally known only as ‘House Mother’, Phathu is the Resident Shrink at Taungana. She is a registered social worker practicing in both the public and private space. A firm believer in the power of the girl child, Phathu is a dedicated mother to 135 girls (and counting) and one very happy blessed boy. Legend has it Phathu was invited for an unspecified week-long get away in August 2014. Always the adventurer, she packed her bags and arrived at a famous Johannesburg hotel to find thirty bright young African minds waiting for House Mother. Phathu fell in love, and the rest is history.
